What these indices mean
ECMI (emsTradepoint Carbon Monthly Index) is a 30-day rolling volume-weighted average of all NZU trades on the emsTradepoint spot platform. It's the number most frequently quoted when people talk about "the NZU price".
ECQI (emsTradepoint Carbon Quarterly Index) is the 90-day rolling equivalent. It moves more slowly than ECMI, so the gap between the two is a short-term direction indicator — ECMI below ECQI tells you the recent trend is softer than the quarterly baseline.
Daily VWAP is just the volume-weighted average of trades on a single day. Most NZU trading days have no reportable VWAP because no trades cleared.
